Giant Miscanthus
Popular as one of the tallest ornamental grasses, Giant Silver Grass reaches a whopping 8-12' or more every year once established! In September, silver plumes emerge as the foliage begins to turn a deep burnt orange. Remains upright throughout the winter providing a wonderful landscape effect. Salt and drought tolerant. Grows well even in barren soils as it has low nutrient requirements. Adaptable, with few pests and easy to grow. Giant Miscanthus makes a wonderful screen, windbreak hedge, or accent plant. Sterile, non-invasive, and a slow spreader typically reaching full size within a few years. Plant 3' apart for a quick hedge. Zones 4-9.
