80 days. If you want a radish the size of a watermelon, plant the Giant Sakurajima Radish! They often weigh 15 lbs. or more. The quality is extraordinary! It's nearly round, solid, firm and crisp with excellent flavor. It keeps well in storage for fall and winter use.Planting guide: If grown during hot weather, the roots of this variety are apt to become woody; therefore, a fall crop is recommended. Sow during midsummer 1/2 inch deep in good rich light soil, in rows 3 feet apart. Thin out to 2 feet apart in the row. To produce large roots, cut off buds as soon as they appear so as not to allow them to go to seed.
